NEW DOMAIN NAMES

We register domain names which can be used here with your web server or email services, or with any other host, or parked until you are ready to use the name. You will be able to modify your domain name record via the web at any time. Below are the prices we charge for new domain names, or existing domain names transferred to us:

TRANSFER DOMAIN NAMES

If you want to use an existing domain name with any of our services, you are not required to transfer the domain name here, you will only need to change the domain name name servers to ns1.edson.net and ns2.edson.net. If you prefer to transfer the domain name to us, the cost is the same as for a new domain name (above), and the completed transfer will extend your domain name expiration date for one additional year.

NOTE: All domain names utilizing our service work with and without the www (e.g. "www.edson.net" and simply "edson.net") which means your visitors will reach you no matter which they type. Not all hosts do that...

SUB-HOST DOMAIN NAMES

You may sub-host other registered domain names on your server here for NO additional monthly fee! Sub-hosting actually gives you the ability to host other unique web sites on your server, but visitors cannot tell it is sub-hosted. It simply appears as a normal web site.

You can pay for your server or make a profit by sub-hosting! For example, our Commercial Pro is $16 a month and allows three sub-hosts. If you were to sub-host three clients and charge them just $6 each, you would make a profit! Sell it for more or add web design, and you can make even more profit...

We charge only a $12.50 one-time setup fee per domain name that was registered though us. If you want to use a domain name that was registered elsewhere, then the one-time fee is only $25.00 (either way, no increase in the monthly fee!)

As you can see, one of the advantages to sub-hosting is you can now resell some of your server space and offset your monthly fee or make a profit. Many of our clients who sub-host actually make a profit as it is easy to do so. Sub-hosting is one reason we are popular with web designers and resellers. With a Power Server, the income potential is unlimited.

Additionally, all sub-hosted domain names can have email accounts configured for the specific domain name(s).

ADDITIONAL DOMAIN NAMES

All of our web servers support having unlimited domain names pointed at them. The difference between a domain name pointer and a sub-host is that with sub-hosting you also have the ability to add email names and user accounts. So whenever you add a domain name to a server, be sure to indicate whether you are adding a sub-host or a pointer.

C-NAMES

You can also sub-host with cnames. A cname includes a name in front of the domain name, like xxx.edson.net (or cname.your-domain.com) and we charge only a $12.50 one-time fee for cnames. Cnames are very common, like support.microsoft.com, news.google.com, orders.your-domain.com, support.your-domain.com, etc.
